What did God do for me

He planned my salvation before the world began
He sent His Son to die for me before I was born
He sent men to prepare the preaching of the gospel for me
He sent a specific man to tell me what I need to hear about Christ and His love for me
He made me alive from the deadness of my spirit
He opened my heart to receive His truth and His Son
He gave me faith to believe That Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God
He made me conscious of sin, all of which cause damnation
He changed my mind about my own righteousness which is never enough to please Him
He justified me and forgave me of all my sins
He gave me eternal life
He indwelt me thru the Spirit
He sealed me with the Holy Spirit of promise that I am an heir

Abuse of success

A combination verse I got from SGBC (Northport, AL)

says a lot of things about those of us whom God allows to be prosperous.

Immediately after the success, comes the wide ear, the blown up heart, the chair which you carry up to a pedestal to lift up yourself above others.  Our carnal hearts make sure that it happens. Our old man whispers louder and louder.

"Look at you now, you are different from them, they are nothing but you are something else"

God will have His glory for Himself alone, and He will not share it.

Sometimes, the vanity of man will cause him to abuse success.  He will take as much of it as he can.  Like the Israelites taking the MANNA in abundance, even though they know they can't consume that much.  So God made the decree of making the excess as wormy bread in the morning.

Preach only love not doctrine?

1 Thessalonians 2:2 (KJV)
But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

Someone told me that the law condemns but the gospel loves, saves and gives grace.

This is the twisting of some truths that we should hold on to.

First, the law takes us to Crist and it will convict the elect to believe the gospel but the depraved will be condemned. The law is not evil. It is holy and good.

Second, even the preaching of the gospel of God's grace is not just loving and condescending. It is also contending. This is the essence of I Thes 2:2

When we say contending, that can only be done thru doctrine.

So yes preach love but more than that preach doctrine with love.

Never put out the fire

Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)
The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

Christians have been brainwashed that we can "accept" the Lord and then live a carnal life for years but still remain saved and then later on pick up the spiritual life before death.

This is not Bible teaching.

A man in Christ departs from iniquity
He is a new creature
He has new garments because he puts off the old man and puts on Christ
He has the Holy Spirit, a holy person living inside of him

Therefore the fire shall ever be burning upon the altar of his life because his body is now a temple of the Holy Ghost

Ignorance is not an excuse

And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty; [28] Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.

When we offend someone, the offense causes some damage, some breach. Even if we did it ignorantly, innocently, with all good intentions, an offense is an offense. There are some people who are offended wrongly. One time, I wanted to help a man get out of his problem of always cursing. So every time he curses in front of me, I reminded him that it is wrong to do that. One day he just got fed up with me and cursed me in front of people.

In the case of our God, it is impossible for us to offend Him wrongly. When God is offended, it is an offense indeed. So here we have God's prescription for the Old Covenant people. If they sin willfully they should have an atonement for that and even if the sin was through ignorance they should have an atonement for that too once it is discovered.

Applying that to our generation, we should have the same confession of sins, the same repentance actions, the same restitutions, the same feelings of remorse, the same words of asking for restoration both for the sin with full knowledge and sin through ignorance. Christ atoned for both on our behalf.

Calling of the Elect

This promise of Christ and the salvation which comes by Him, is revealed only by the Word of God. The works of creation and providence with the light of nature do not reveal Christ or His grace even in a general or obscure way. How much less, therefore, can those who are devoid of the revelation of Christ by the promise (or the Gospel) be enabled by the light of nature to arrive at saving faith or repentance

JAMES says no to Careless Statements

The SUPER POWERS OF THOSE IN CHRIST

Men have powers that other beings have not.  Animals can’t talk, they can't walk upright, they can't make designs, and they have no morality.  Animals have only instincts.

But a saved man, born again, a child of the Almighty God, creator, is not only above animals, but have powers other humans have not.

In that sense, those in Christ have SUPER POWERS.

If you claim to be saved and experience no super power, it could be because of Ignorance; indifference; prayerlessness; slothfulness.

Act 1:7-8  And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.  (8)  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.


THOSE IN CHRIST HAVE THE SUPER POWER TO SPEAK LIFE TO DEAD SOULS
AND CHRIST WILL QUICKEN THEM WHO ARE HIS LOST SHEEP TO LIFE EVERLASTING
