How many Followers do you have?

Nowadays we are familiar with the word FOLLOWER and these Followers LIKE our Posts and we dont like to be unfriended or disliked. We frown at those who don't follow and who negate our thoughts. Worst of all, we don't like those who pervert our words, misinterpret our intentions and judge our motives.

What do you think are the LORD's thoughts against those who dislike him, who would not follow him, who would not have him as God? And worse, what do you think of those who pervert God's word?

Indignation. Anger. Holy wrath

There is only One God

There is only One God
Was known as YHVH
The God of Abraham, Isaac, Israel
The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
The Son of God
There are not three gods
The Father is not the Son
The Son is not the Father made flesh
The Spirit is neither the Son nor the Father
But these three are One
The Son was in glory

All creation was made thru Him and for Him
He who denies the Father and the Son
Is antichrist

How God makes a church

The Lord built only one kind of church
He called it "my church"
He founded it, organized it, gave it commands
He made ordinances for it to follow
He pronounced teachings for it to propagate
He gave the Holy Spirit to remain
Indwell it and Empower it
He gave it apostles, prophets, teachers
He gave it the complete scriptures
By His command His church sends forth preachers
By His command the lost, prepared by God, are saved
And in that locality, a body of Christ is formed
the same as the one formed by Christ
Like begets like
Same faith and practice
And the Lord does the same thing over again

CONFESS YOUR SINS

if you have done or hid things which the church should know,

because other people might scandalize the church because of what you did
because other people outside the church know already about your secret
because the name of the Lord will be blasphemed if you don't face the truth
because you know that someday your sin will be discovered anyway

it is time to ask the LORD for strength to face the church
repent, restore, renew

GOD will be glorified

THE SAMARITAN WOMAN admitted her sin before the Lord
Joh 4:18-19  For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.  (19)  The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

ZACCHAEUS addmitted his sin before the LORD and others

Luk 19:8-9  And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.  (9)  And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

The parable of the Publican shows us how confession is done

Luk 18:13-14  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.  (14)  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Php 3:12 (a) Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect:

What did you do for the Lord last year?

1.       NOTHING that should cause you to be puffed up.

2.      Paul did many things for God year after year and yet he said this verse 12.

Php 3:12 (b) but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 

What can we do for the LORD in the year 2013?

1.       Paul was apprehended by Christ

2.      He wants to apprehend that perfect state and apprehend the Gentiles with the same arrest action that Christ gave him

3.      You can arrest people for the Lord this year 2013

4.      But you should be arrested first of the Lord

What changes should you do to your life for the coming year 2013?

(13)  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind

1.       Stop counting

a.       Stop grabbing credit. 

b.      Stop feeling loss for not being credited. 

c.       Stop feeling loss for not successfully winning a soul, just evangelize. 

d.      Stop feeling loss for not benefiting from a soul you have won to Christ

e.      Stop counting your accomplishments and fruits and give God all the glory. 

Act_20:32  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

1Co_3:6  I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

Joh_4:38  I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

2.       PUT IT BEHIND YOU

Are you still rejoicing about your past accomplishments for the Lord?  FORGET IT

Are you still telling people how ten years ago you were a former BIBLE teacher? MOVE ON

Are you in the habit of pointing out how you won the Best Soul winner award?  PUT IT BEHIND

Vs. 13 (b) but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before

3.       REACH OUT AND REACH FORTH

a.       PAUL reached forth to the Apostolic calling and task

b.      Then he reached out to the Gentiles

c.       Reaching forth today means to think of more ways to serve Jesus

d.      Reaching out today means thinking and doing more ways to serve your fellowmen

4.       PRESS ON

What do you think will you be after 5 years, if things on earth continue as is?

Do you envision yourself as following the high calling of God in Christ Jesus?

For some this high calling will be being born again

For some this high calling will be being baptized

For some this high calling will be giving sacrificially week after week, year after year

For some this high calling will be suffering laughter and being an outcast (after 5 years)

For some this high calling will be always inviting, being used and abused for God

For some this high calling will be being a Pastor or Missionary or deacon

For some this high calling will be death

Whatever it could be, PRESS ON
